Celebrate my birthday on April 15!

Each year, April 15 celebrates something special: the birth of the rubber eraser. Where would we be as a society today if our mistakes couldn’t be erased? In honor of the rubber eraser, here are some fun facts you can impress your friends with:

1. The first erasers were made of rubber. These days, erasers are made from either rubber or vinyl.

2. In 1770, Joseph Priestley discovered the ability to erase lead pencil marks using pieces of Indian rubber.

3. Later in 1858, Hyman Lipman of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania patented the eraser-topped pencil.

Mark your calendars 😀
